Fair Wisconsin Legal Challenge Update

October has been a busy month for Fair Wisconsin. Not only has Tim, our Outreach Director, been crossing the state, visiting Stevens Point, Whitewater, Manitowoc, Green Bay, and Milwaukee (just to name a few!) to celebreate with and educate couples on the process to register as domestic partners and engage local volunteers in the work of fairness, but we have been working hard to defend domestic partnerships from a legal challenge in our State Supreme Court.

Just last week, lawyers from the Alliance Defense Fund and Wisconsin Family Action asked the Supreme Court to not allow Fair Wisconsin and its members to defend domestic partnerships. Our voices are critical in this case to defend against this attempt to deny thousands of same-sex couples even the most basic legal protections.

Fair Wisconsin has no intention of sitting on the sidelines.

Fair Wisconsin will do everything it can to make sure the voices of its members are heard during this legal process, but we need your help today to continue the fight to defend domestic partnerships. Please   click here to contribute today!

Thank you for all your help,

Katie Belanger
Executive Director

P.S. There are over 15,000 same-sex couples in our state, and Fair Wisconsin will not rest until this important step toward full equality is safe for all of them. Please click here to contribute right now!
