Special event for Independence Day

 

WInnebago County is having a special ceremony at the Winnebago County Courthouse (corner of Jackson and Algoma) on Saturday, July 4^th.

 

At 8:00 AM, Sheriff Matz will read the Declaration of Independence from the steps of the Courthouse.

 

This is  a reenactment of what was done 239 years ago to let the people know about the formation of the United States.

 

Parent are encouraged to bring their children. This could be a very “teachable moment”.
