One Wisconsin Now Statements on Walker Debate Dodge
Walker Refuses Details on How He’ll Pay for Nearly $3 Billion in Tax Cuts, Loopholes, Shifts for Rich, Big Business
Madison – One Wisconsin Now released the following statements from Executive Director Scot Ross on Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker’s continuing call for $3 billion in tax cuts, loopholes and shifts overwhelmingly benefitting the rich and big business, and his refusal during tonight’s gubernatorial debate to once again detail the cuts to education, health care and police and fire fighters necessary to pay for it.
“Scott Walker wants to hand over nearly $3 billion in tax cuts, loopholes and shifts that overwhelmingly benefit the rich and big business, but he won’t say the cuts to education, health care and police and fire fighters necessary to pay for it. Scott Walker is distinguishing himself by offering what may be a first of its kind in American history – a tax cut solely for the top one percent – something even George W. Bush never tried.”
