Second youth event to be held by the Youth Brain Tumor Support Group
The
Fox Valley Brain Tumor Coalition’s commitment to supporting those of
all ages affected by brain tumors, through the expansion of its services
into a Youth Brain Tumor Support Group in 2012, has announced it will
hold its second youth event. The second Youth Brain Tumor Support Group
will meet on Sunday, July 8 from 3 pm to 5 pm at Badger Sports Park
in Appleton, Wisconsin. Any youth between the age of 5 and 18 years old
that has a brain tumor themselves or has been affected by a brain tumor
through a family member’s diagnosis whether living or deceased are
welcome to join.
The event will start off with a 20 minute discussion on how brain tumors have affected them. This activity will provide an avenue to kids to engage with other kids and tell their story. It will provide the leaders opportunities to identify ways to support the youth in overcoming challenges and becoming their very best no matter what they faced in the past or are dealing with in the present. The remaining time will be spent playing at Badger Sports Park. Through actives The Fox Valley Brain Tumor Coalition encourages the youth to have fun, enjoy life, and develop relationships with others facing similar challenges.
For more information about the event, please contact Amy Baeten by phone at 920-562-8781 or e-mail at abaeten3@gmail.com. Notification of attendance by phone or e-mail with the number of youth attending the event prior to the day of the event is appreciated.
