Eye on Oshkosh - Festival of Gratitude and Solutions Recovery, taped 11-...
On the most recent episode of Eye on Oshkosh, host Cheryl Hentz talks with Rev. Tom Willadsen, about the annual Festival of Gratitude – something he has been involved with spearheading for several years. This year’s event will be held at The Grand Opera House in Oshkosh, making it the 9th
year The Grand has hosted it. In past years the event has been interfaith but this year will also feature non-faith groups. Willadsen says they’ve realized that not everyone belongs to a faith, and yet, are part of our community and have things to be grateful for, as well. This year’s event will also be in Braille and signed for those who are hearing-impaired. The event will be held on Monday, Nov. 19th beginning at 7pm and is free and open to all members of the community. A freewill offering will be taken to help cover costs.
In the second segment, Hentz talks with folks from Solutions Recovery, Inc., about their organization and how they help people in recovery or are members of a 12-step program. Joining her in the conversation are Operations Director Trevor Fenrich, Club Manager Ellie Edwards, and Board Member Jenna Washuleski. The discussion centered around what the organization does, who it’s open to, how it is supported and how people can get involved. They also talked about things on their wish list, if someone wants to help with something other than a financial contribution.
