Excellent summary of Walker's power grab
If one really wants to know what this so-called "budget repair bill" is all about and why it's nothing more than being about political paybacks and power grabs, check out this editorial by New York Times columnist Paul Krugman. It sums up things with Gov. Walker and his cronies in Madison pretty well.

Gordon Hintz is an assemblyman, so I think you meant to say it happened on the Assembly floor, not the Senate floor. And, yes, by now we all know what happened. But how about the dispicable actions by so many of the Republicans - both in the Senate and the Assembly - that have led to people saying or doing things that they wouldn't ordinarily do? Not making excuses for or legitimizing his behavior, but there are often things in life that occur that are precipitated by something else.
And how about the actions of Rep. Michelle Litjens, saying she forgives him, saying she doesn't want to make a big deal out of it, especially when it wasn't directed solely at her? Yet there she is making as big a deal out of it as she can and grabbing any time she can in front of a mic or camera, including on national TV, in addition to asking he be formally disciplined. So much for her being a woman of her word and not making a big deal out of it.
Hypocrites.
