City of Oshkosh declares Snow Emergency

ISSUED ON WEDNESDAY, DEC. 19TH

City of Oshkosh declares Snow Emergency...

(Oshkosh, WI) A snow emergency has been declared for the city of Oshkosh, effective at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 19 through noon on Friday, Dec. 21. While this announcement comes well in advance of tonight’s anticipated winter storm, and Oshkosh Police won’t be strictly enforcing parking rules until later this evening, the city is still asking all residents to obey snow emergency parking rules as soon as possible.

During a snow emergency, odd-even parking rules apply for a minimum of 48 hours for everyone. Overnight parking restrictions, meaning no street parking from 2:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m., remain in effect.

Vehicles must be parked on the odd side of the street from noon today, Wednesday, Dec. 19, until noon tomorrow. On Thursday, Dec. 20, at noon, vehicles will need to be moved to the even side of the street.

With the anticipated blizzard conditions, residents are encouraged to avoid parking on the street at all.

The snow emergency will be lifted at noon on Friday, Dec. 21.
Please check the city website, www.ci.oshkosh.wi.us, for updates.
