Early voting and registration in Oshkosh moved to Convention Center
Residents of Oshkosh looking to register and vote at City Hall in advance of this year’s Nov. 6 Presidential Election will only be able to do so on Monday, Oct. 29. All other early voting and registration must be done at the Oshkosh Convention Center, located at 2 North Main St., between Monday, Oct. 22-Friday, Oct. 26 and Tuesday, Oct. 30-Friday, Nov. 2. The Oshkosh Convention Center will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day:
• Oshkosh Convention Center voting: Monday, Oct. 22–Friday, Oct. 26 and
Tuesday, Oct. 30–Friday, Nov. 2
• City Hall voting: Monday, Oct. 29 (8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)
Due to a lack of space at City Hall, along with the expectation of large crowds, early voting and registration had to be moved. “The Oshkosh Convention Center, with plenty of space and parking, immediately caught my attention,” said City Clerk Pam Ubrig.
When showing up to the Oshkosh Convention Center, city residents will be urged to park in the Riverside Park parking lot and use the southeast entrance into the building. Cooperation
will be key to the event running smoothly, as there will be no entering the building via the main lobby on the corner of North Main Street and Ceape Avenue.
For more information in regards to early voting and registration, please contact the City Clerk’s Office at (920) 236-5011, or visit http://www.ci.oshkosh.wi.us/.
ABSENTEE BALLOT VOTING: Keep in mind you can also vote by absentee ballot. Submit your request in writing to your local clerk's office and they will mail you a ballot. You then vote and mail it back to them. In Oshkosh they even provide you with a postage-paid envelope; other places may do that, too. You do not have to state a reason as to why you're voting this way. Just simply say you want an absentee ballot. Simple as that. But you should do it sooner rather than later, if you're planning to vote this way. There is a cut-off date by when the applications for an absentee ballot must be received and/or the ballots returned. Ballots are already being mailed out so you can make your request now, if you wish to vote by absentee ballot.
