Weekly construction update
(Green
Bay) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) NE Regional Office in Green
Bay is providing a weekly update on region construction, which includes the
counties of Brown, Calumet, Door, Fond du Lac, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Marinette,
Oconto, Outagamie, Sheboygan, and Winnebago.
Motorists are advised to use caution and
remain alert when driving through any work zone.
Drivers
are also encouraged to seek information about work zones and detours in the
following ways:

Brown County
Leo Frigo Bridge, city of Green Bay/ I-43
Schedule: May 2012 to July 2013
Length: 3.5 Miles
Cost: $16.8 million
Location: I-43 over the Fox
River
Description: Work consists of
completing concrete deck surface repair and placing an asphalt or concrete
overlay on I-43 over the Fox River, Atkinson Drive over I-43, and Military
Avenue over I-43; replacing the bridge joints along I-43 over the Fox River and
Military Avenue over I- 43; painting of the steel girders within ten feet of
the joint replacements, the box girders along the arch span, and all steel
within the splash zone along I-43 over the Fox River; concrete pavement repairs
along I-43 between Webster Avenue and Military Avenue and along with the ramps
at Webster Avenue and Atkinson Drive; traffic cameras at I-43/Danz Avenue, I-
43/University Avenue, and I-43/County JJ; dynamic message signs at
I-43/Glenmore Road, I- 43/Danz Avenue, I-43/Military Avenue, and I-43/WIS
54/57; ramp gates at the Webster Avenue and Atkinson Drive on-ramps to I-43;
temporary and permanent storm sewer; beam guard replacement; median concrete
barrier wall; sign replacement; and pavement markings.
October 8 to October 12: Contractor
continued work on the modular joints and they continued blast cleaning and
painting the outside steel girders along I-43 southbound over Leo Frigo Bridge.
Contractor also started work on the bridge deck along Atkinson Drive northbound
lanes over I-43 by removing the existing concrete overlay, completing surface
preparation on the deck, and performing curb repairs.
October 15 to October 19: Contractor will
continue work on the modular joints and they will continue to blast cleaning
and painting the outside steel girders along I-43 southbound over Leo Frigo
Bridge. Contractor will also finish bridge deck preparation and curb repairs
along the Atkinson Drive northbound lanes over I-43.
Traffic Impacts: I-43 northbound and
southbound is now bi-directional along the I-43 northbound lanes. The on-ramp
from Webster Avenue to I-43 northbound, the on-ramp from Atkinson Drive to I-43
southbound, and the off-ramp from I-43 southbound to Webster Avenue are closed
to all traffic. Atkinson Drive is reduced to one lane in each direction and is
counter-directional along the southbound lanes between the railroad overpass
and Hurlbut Street.
US 41 Orange Lane to Glory Road, Main Avenue (County
G) Interchange
Schedule: March 2012 through June 2013.
The Main Avenue (County G) interchange will be closed for 60 consecutive days
beginning September 17, 2012.
Length: Mainline -3.5 miles (Orange Lane -
Glory Road); Main Avenue (County G) - 0.5 miles (Spirit Way - Lawrence Drive)
Cost: $57 million
Location: Town of Lawrence, city of De Pere,
village of Ashwaubenon; Brown County
Description of project: This project will
reconstruct US 41 Mainline between Orange Lane and Glory Road and the reconstruction
of the Main Avenue interchange and replacement of bridges over Ashwaubenon
Creek, Main Avenue, and Grant Street.
October 8 to October 12: The contractor
will continue outside mainline grading and structure work from Orange Lane to
Glory Road. On County G, the contractor will continue placing concrete
pavement and curb and gutter. Work will begin on County EE bridges and
retaining walls.
October 15 to October 19: The contractor will
continue outside mainline grading, storm sewer, breaker and aggregate placement
as well as structure work on numerous structures made available after the
traffic switch to the new inside pavement. Structure work will
specifically involve deck construction and deck pour on the east side of north
creek bridge as well as north and south abutment work and deck work on the west
side of this same bridge. Deck construction on the south creek bridge
will continue as well as retaining wall work and pile driving on the rest of
the bridge structures. On County G, concrete curb and pavement placement will
continue.
Traffic impacts: US 41 northbound and
southbound shoulders closed from March 5, 2012 to June 21, 2013 from 1.5 miles
south of Scheuring Road to Parkview Road. US 41 northbound and southbound
lanes are restricted to 11 feet from 1.5 miles south of Scheuring Road to
Parkview Road with speeds reduced from 65 mph to 55 mph within the project
limits and north through the Mason Street Interchange project. Beginning on
September 17 at midnight, the County G interchange will close for 60
days. The closure will include the north and southbound on/off ramps to
US 41, as well as County G itself from just west of the Mid Valley Drive
intersection to a point just west of the Lawrence Drive intersection. Mid
Valley Drive will also be closed at County G with no access to County G. The
left shoulder of the northbound off-ramp to Oneida Street will be closed until
October 19. The left lane of the southbound off-ramp to Scheuring Road
will be closed until October 27. The shoulders of Glory Road adjacent to
the US 41 will be closed till October 27. The northbound outside lane of
US 41 will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the night of October 15 and the
southbound outside lane of US 41 will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the night
of October 16.
US 41 (Early Structures/Early Fills), (Beaver
Dam Creek Box Culvert at Van Boxtel), (Wetland Mitigation Site Resort Road) –
US 41 major

Description: The work under this
contract consists of common excavation; borrow excavation, construction of
various structures, storm sewer, culverts, and erosion control.
October 8 to October 12: Continue forming and
pouring last remaining parapets. Continue staining the pre-stressed concrete
panels. Continue final restoration and work on punch list items.
October 12 to October 16: Continue staining
the pre-stressed concrete panels. Continue final grading, restoration and work
on punch list items.
Traffic Impacts: No more traffic
impacts all major work is complete.
US 41/ WIS 29 Interchange Core Project - US
41 major
Schedule: August 2012 to October 2014
Length: 1.6 miles along US 41, 0.8 miles
along WIS 29
Cost: $97 million
Location: US 41 (Mason Street to Memorial
Drive)/ WIS 29 (County J to Taylor Street)
Description: This project will
complete the reconstruction of the US 41 and WIS 29 interchange, converting the
interchange by building high speed, free flow flyover ramps, along with adding
capacity to US 41. Included in this project is the construction of 12 bridges,
15 retaining walls, 30 sign bridges, concrete pavement, asphalt pavement, storm
sewer, stormwater detention ponds and landscaping, while incorporating many
community sensitive design features.
October 8 to October 12: Crews will continue
bridge pier construction in the US 41 median south of Shawano Avenue and north
of Dousman Street, along with pier construction along the east side of US 41
between Larson Road and Shawano Avenue. Crews will continue the construction of
soil improvements along the east and west side of US 41 north of Memorial
Drive. Retaining wall crews will continue construction of the retaining
wall on the east side of US 41, from the south project limits to Larson Road.
At night crews will continue widening the median to allow for temporary
pavement, as well as some pours at night at the median flyover bridge
piers. Crews will continue removing pavement and installing drainage
blanket in the old WIS 29 areas, along with wick drain installation. Bridge
crews will also continue the construction of the piers at the new WIS 29
bridges over Packerland Drive.
October 15 to October 19: Crews will continue

US 41/WIS 29/County J Structures and County
RK (South Frontage Road) West

Description: Work consists of
building new structures along WIS 29 at County J with aesthetic details and under
deck lighting; reconstructing County J from Berkshire Drive to Shawano Avenue
to go under WIS 29 with street lighting, sidewalks, and plantings; constructing
a single lane roundabout at the intersection of County J and new County RK
(South Frontage Road); and constructing a new urban roadway (County RK) with
sidewalk along the south side of the roadway, street lighting, and plantings.
October 8 to October 12: Contractor
installed the under deck lighting and completed the final landscaping along
County J.
October 15 to October 19: Contractor will
complete items on their punch list.
Traffic Impacts: Shoulders closures
along County J under WIS 29.
WIS 29 - County EB Ramps, County RK Park and
Ride, Duck Creek Bridges

Description: Project includes the
construction of the eastbound and westbound County EB on and off ramps at WIS
29, widening of WIS 29 eastbound and westbound, building structures over Duck
Creek, construction of Shawano Avenue and temporary connections at Dousman and
the US 41 ramp terminals at Shawano Avenue, temporary ramps at US 41 and
Shawano Avenue, realignment of Beaver Dam Creek, and a Park and Ride at County
RK.
October 8 to October 12: Work will
finish digging Beaver Dam Creek for realignment. Work will continue on
the piers in Duck Creek. Asphalt base will be placed west of Duck Creek.
Work will begin to remove the railroad tracks on County EB south of County
RK. Vane drain installation will occur.
October 15 to October 19: Panels will be
set for the retaining wall on the east side of Duck Creek. Grading will occur
at the Shawano Avenue/US 41 ramps area, and at Packerland Drive/WIS 29.
Pier and abutment work will continue on the Duck Creek bridges. The
railroad tracks crossing Packerland Drive, south of County RK, will be removed
in stages on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Traffic will be pushed to the
outsides on Tuesday night while work is completed on the inside, and to the
inside on Wednesday night as work is completed on the outside.
Traffic Impacts: There will be
daily inside lane closures on WIS 29 west of County EB/Packerland Drive. There
will be also be various shoulder and lane closures on WIS 29 next week during
the day and evening. Expect daily westbound and eastbound WIS 29 lane
closures. There were many changes in pavement marking, barrier wall, signing,
and traffic patterns that occurred in the beginning of the week on WIS 29,
County EB (Packerland Drive/ /Cardinal Lane), Dousman Street, Shawano Avenue,
and the US 41 ramps. The traffic pattern adjacent to the
Cardinal/Packerland/County EB and WIS 29, as well as US 41 and Dousman/Shawano has
changed considerably. Please drive with caution, and plan for slight delays
accordingly. There will be outside lane closures on Packerland
Drive/County EB on Tuesday night at the railroad tracks to begin track
removal. These closures will be allowed between the hours of 6 p.m.
Tuesday night and 6a.m. Wednesday morning. The railroad tracks crossing
Packerland Drive, south of County RK, will be removed in stages on Tuesday and
Wednesday nights. Traffic will be pushed to the outsides on Tuesday night
while work is completed on the insides, and to the inside on Wednesday night as
work is completed on the outsides.
Mason Street Interchange and 9th
Street to Larsen Road Mainline - US 41 major
Schedule: September 2011 to October 2012
Length: 1.0 Mile
Cost: $29 million
Location: Mason Street Interchange and US 41
Mainline from 9th Street to Larsen Road.
Description: This project will
reconstruct the Mason Street Interchange with new ramps, bridge over US 41, roundabout
ramp terminals, and retaining walls. The project also includes the complete
reconstruction of the US 41 mainline through the Mason Street Interchange
vicinity, from just south of 9th Street to just south of Larsen
Road. Mainline includes the paving of mainline to the ultimate roadway section
including the replacement of the 9th Street bridges, box culverts,
retaining walls, and storm sewer. The project further includes the razing and
removal of the Allied Pool building and subsequent construction of a detention
pond on that site.
October 8 to October 12: Minor work continues
on the structures, retaining walls and electrical installations.
Landscaping and finish work continue.
October 15 to October 19: Minor work will
continue on the structures and electrical/lighting installations. General
landscaping and finishing work will continue.
Traffic impacts: US 41 and Mason
Street are open to traffic. US 41 traffic will be switched to the final project
position. Traffic impacts, including lane closers, can be anticipated Monday
through Wednesday. Be prepared for changing traffic patterns.
Temporary Signals- Packerland Drive/ Dousman

involves the realignment of WIS 54 with a new bridge over Duck Creek and

retaining wall, bridge rehabilitation, lighting, signing, landscaping and
pavement marking.
October 8 to October 12: Grading
operations along WIS 54 continued through the week. Asphalt paving
operations along the new lanes of WIS 54 and the some of the shared use paths
were completed throughout the week. Crews continued placing storm sewer
along WIS 54 throughout the week. Excavation for the East Pond along WIS
54 continued through the week. Crews continue to complete rehab work on
the old structure of WIS 54 over Duck Creek. Sidewalks along West Service
and the roundabout at the intersection of WIS 54 and Seminary road were
completed. Electrical work along the shared use paths along WIS 54
continued throughout the week.
October 15 to October 19: Grading
operations along WIS 54 will continue throughout the week. Curb and
gutter will be placed along the new lanes of WIS 54 early in the week.
Asphalt paving operations along WIS 54 will begin again late in the week.
Excavation for the East Pond along WIS 54 will continue through the week.
Crews will continue rehab work on the old structure of WIS 54 over Duck
Creek. Work will begin on the retaining wall along WIS 54 early in the
week. Electrical work along the shared used paths will continue
throughout the weekTraffic Impacts: Traffic along WIS 54 will
remain open at all times, although brief periods of flagging may occur that
will cause delays to the traveling public. An all-way stop condition is
in place for the intersection of WIS 54 and Seminary Road. Traffic along
WIS 54 is shifted to the north to allow for construction on the new lanes of
WIS 54 and the south portion of the roundabout at the intersection of WIS 54
& Seminary Road. Please note traffic is now routed over the new structure
of WIS 54 over Duck Creek. Portions of WIS 54 have been reduced to 10-foot
lanes to allow for construction activities. The south leg of Seminary Road is
closed to thru traffic and will remain closed until late October for the
construction of the WIS 54 and Seminary Road roundabout. West Service road is
closed and will remain closed until mid to late October.
Calumet County
US 10/City of
Brillion

Description: The project is an urban
reconstruct project involving earthwork excavation, base aggregate, asphalt
pavement, concrete pavement, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, curb and gutter,
pavement marking, permanent signing, signals, and landscaping.
October 1 to October 5: Pavement removals,
grading and placement of breaker run and base aggregate will continue between
County HR and the un-named tributary to Spring Creek. Concrete paving has
started in the westbound lane from Columbus Avenue to Northway Drive.
October 8 to October 12: The contractor is
scheduled to begin concrete pavement preparation from Columbus Avenue to
Northway Drive in the eastbound lane after traffic is switched to the new
concrete pavement. Removals, grading, breaker run and base aggregate is
scheduled between County HR and the un-named tributary to Spring Creek.
Sidewalk, driveway and intersection work on the north half of US 10 is
scheduled to begin between Columbus Avenue and Northway Drive.
Traffic impacts: The project is closed
to through traffic. A detour route is in place. The detour route will follow US
10 to WIS 57 to County K to County PP to US 10. One-Way westbound access
will be maintained to local businesses and property owners.

Manitowoc County
US 151/ I-43
Schedule: August to October

Cost: $580,000
Location: US 151 and I-43 Interchange
Description of project: The work under this contract
consists of widening the southbound and northbound entrance ramps, various
pavement repair and replacement on all four ramps at the interchange and median
work on US 151.
October 8 to October 12: Contractor will
complete the installation of concrete pavement in ramp widening areas.
New pavement markings will be placed. Site restoration and clean up will be
done. Contractor will install new signage. New beam guard will be
installed.
October 15 to October 19: Contractor will be
waiting for cure on the final portion of red concrete before traffic is allowed
on it. This portion will remain drummed off and not used until October 19.
Traffic impacts: Construction
will be complete October 12; however, the red ramp widening areas will not be
cured enough for traffic until October 19. The only traffic this may affect is
oversize/overweight truck traffic. All other portions of project will be
completely open by October 12.
Marinette County

be required. There will still be work requiring temporary shoulder closures at
several locations along this roadway. Traffic is advised to be alert and
exercise caution when workers are present.
US 41
Schedule: June 11, 2012 to October 10, 2012
Length: 2.1 miles
Cost: $3.8 million
Location: South Doland Avenue to Old Peshtigo Road, City
of Peshtigo,
Marinette County
Description: This project involves the removal and replacement of
the existing bridge over the Peshtigo River. Also included is milling of the
existing asphalt roadway and paving asphalt pavement at the same depth.
Existing concrete pavement on the east side of the city will be diamond ground
to provide a better riding surface. Existing sidewalk ramps are being replaced.
October 1 to October 5: Structure crews will continue work on the parapets on
the bridge. Curb and gutter will be placed on the roadway on either side of the
bridge. Electrical conduit will be installed behind the curb and gutter. New
sidewalk will be poured late in the week on the roadway approaches to the
bridge.
October 8 to October 12:
Concrete sidewalk will be finished early in the week. The
asphalt pavement on the approaches to the bridge will be placed during the
early/mid portions of the week followed by pavement marking. Structure crews
will clean-up the bridge deck and install the railing on the bridge.
Traffic impacts: US 41 will be closed between Front Street and Pine
Street in the City of Peshtigo for the duration of the project for bridge
construction. Recommended alternate route is to use US 41 bypass of Peshtigo
via the County Y and Business 41 ramps. It is anticipated that the bridge will
be opened to traffic the afternoon of October 12.
US 141
Schedule: May 21, 2012 to
October, 2012
Length: 6.5 miles
Cost: $3.9 million
Location: Amberg to Beecher,
Marinette County
Description: This
project involves the pulverizing and re-laying of 6.5 miles of US 141 from Amberg
to Beecher, including the addition of a northbound and southbound passing
lanes, intersection improvements, and culvert replacements. This project also
includes new pavement, concrete curb and gutter, sign replacement, and pavement
marking.

13: The
contractor is working on punchlist items.
Oct 14 to Oct 20: The contractor will
be working on punchlist items.
Traffic impacts: US 141 will be
maintained under the guidance of standard flagging operations, but will be open
to through traffic during construction operations, throughout the duration of
the project.
Oconto
County
WIS 22
Schedule: June 4 to October 26
Length: Eight miles
Cost: $7.4 million
Location: Gillett to Oconto
Falls
Description: The highway is being reconstructed
between Gillett and Oconto Falls. Additionally, a single-lane roundabout
will be built at the WIS 22/32 intersection.
October 8 to October 12: Contractor continued
paving mainline and intersections from Gillett to Oconto Falls. Contractor
began to place final shoulder gravel from Oconto Falls to WIS 22 / 32
Roundabout. Contractor completed traffic lighting and electrical
installations at WIS 22/32 roundabout and WIS 22/32 West Junction.
October 15 to October 19: Contractor will
continue paving intersections and driveways from Gillett to Oconto Falls.
Contractor will begin installing permanent signs. Contractor will begin
installing guardrail. Contractor will complete placing shoulder gravel
from Gillett to Oconto Falls. Contractor will paint centerline and edge
line.
Traffic impacts: WIS 22 is closed from
Gillett to Oconto Falls. This closure will close both WIS 22 and WIS 32 to
through traffic and the detour is posted. Going north on WIS 22, the
detour will start at County C in Pulcifer to County E, US 141, and WIS
22. Going south, it is the same route in reverse. Northbound on WIS
32, the detour will start at County E, County C, WIS 22, and WIS 32 in
Gillet. Going south, it is the same route in reverse. Access will
be maintained to local businesses, residences and side road cross traffic
throughout the project.

Description of project: The work under this contract
consists of constructing a multilane roundabout at the intersection of WIS 55
and County CE.
October 8 to October 12: The intersection was
opened as a single lane roundabout on Monday. The contractor continued
operations of pouring concrete sidewalk, pouring curb and gutter, placing
topsoil, and final restoration.Temporary pavement was removed to accommodate
final surface paving.
October 15 to October 19: Final
restoration will continue. All concrete items will be complete.
Pavement marking will begin.
Traffic impacts: WIS 55 and
County CE will be restricted to one lane in each direction for the remainder of
the project with the intersection operating as a single lane roundabout.
The intersection will be closed from 8 p.m., Friday, October 12 until 6 a.m.
Saturday, October 13 to accommodate paving the asphalt
surface.
WIS 96 (Draper Street, City of Kaukauna)
Schedule: Early April to October 2012
Length: 0.9 miles
Cost: $2.3 million
Location: West Kaukauna City Limits to WIS 55 (Lawe
Street)
Description of project: This project will
reconstruct WIS 96 (Draper Street/Taylor Street) between the west Kaukauna city
limits and WIS 55 (Lawe Street). This reconstruction includes new concrete
pavement, concrete curb and gutter, storm sewer, grading, sidewalk, pavement
marking, and signing. Stage 1 work will be from Hayes Street to Desnoyer
Street.
October 8 to October 12: The contractor
worked on landscaping, clean-up, and punch list items.
October 15 to October 19: The contractor will
be working on punch list items.
Traffic impacts: WIS 96 (Draper
Street/Taylor Street) was opened to traffic on Thursday, October 11.

WIS 57/WIS 23

October 7 to October 12: Work continued
on the WIS 57 northbound bridge deck replacement over the Onion River.
Work also continued on the WIS 23 eastbound bridge over the Sheboygan. At
the intersection of WIS 57 and County C, concrete curb and gutter and concrete
pavement was placed.
October 15 to October 19: Work will
continue on the WIS 57 northbound bridge deck replacement over the Onion River.
Work will also continue on the WIS 23 eastbound bridge over the Sheboygan
River. At the intersection of WIS 57 and County C, work will continue on
placing concrete pavement and work will begin on installing new traffic signals.
Traffic impacts:

County V. WIS 28 eastbound traffic will be able to make a right turn on to WIS
57 southbound. WIS 28 traffic coming from the west and heading east
wanting to access WIS 57 northbound or continue on WIS 28 eastbound will be
detoured from WIS 28 to County W to WIS 57.

. WIS 21 Interchange and US 41
reconstruction over Lake Butte des Morts - US 41 major
Schedule: August 2011 to July 2013
Length: 2 miles
Cost: $54.2 million
Location: WIS 21 Interchange, US 41 mainline
from 1500 feet north of Witzel Avenue, to the US 45 Interchange.
Description: This project
involves the reconstruction of the WIS 21 interchange to pass over US
41. The interchange will be completely reconstructed to include
roundabouts at ramp terminals and at the WIS 21 intersections with Washburn and
Koeller Streets. This project also includes the reconstruction of mainline
US 41 from Witzel Avenue to the US 45 Interchange including new bridges over
Lake Butte des Morts and Sawyer Creek. The work on the Lake Butte des Mort
Causeway will include a recreational trail along the east side of US 41
crossing over the water.
October 7 to October 13: Crews finished
building retaining walls on the northeast corner of the WIS 21 interchange and
grading for the new northbound US 41 lanes between WIS 21 and US 45.
Crews finished girder erection on the north and south channel bridges for
northbound US 41 began deck forming, and continued cofferdam construction at
the main channel bridge. Crews finished installing concrete pavement on
the northbound US 41 lanes between Witzel Avenue and Lake Butte des Morts and
on WIS 21 east of US 41.
October 14 to October 20: Crews will continue
deck forming and cofferdam construction for the new northbound US 41 bridges on
the Lake Butte des Morts causeway. Crews will begin
installing concrete barrier wall on the northbound lanes of US 41 between
Witzel Avenue and Lake Butte des Morts as well as on the ramps and roundabout
for the northbound US 41 ramps at WIS 21. Crews will begin landscaping on
WIS 21 east of US 41.
Traffic impacts: The northbound and
southbound shoulders of US 41 are closed between US 45 and Witzel
Avenue. Northbound and southbound US 41 is reduced to two 11-foot lanes in
each direction between US 45 and Witzel Avenue. WIS 21 is closed to
through traffic between US 41 and Koeller Street. The signed detour to
WIS 21 from US 41 will use the WIS 44/WIS 91 interchange. WIS 21 is open
west of US 41 only. Westbound WIS 21 traffic in the city of Oshkosh will
continue to utilize the WIS 44 signed detour for access to US 41.
Eastbound WIS 21 traffic approaching US 41 will utilize southbound US 41 to WIS
44 to access northbound US 41.
US
41 – Mainline (US 45 to Breezewood Lane)
Schedule: March 2011 to June
2013
Length: 8.0 Miles
Cost: $45 Million
Location: US 41 - US 45
Interchange to Breezewood Lane
Description: This project
involves the reconstruction and widening of US 41. The work includes
construction of multiple structures including: bridges, box culverts, and sign
bridges along with grading, base aggregate, concrete & asphalt pavements,
concrete barrier wall, and pavement marking.
October 7 to October 13: Work continued in the
median. Crews were installing light pole bases and barrier wall from
County GG to Breezewood Lane. Work began on the outside shoulder of the
new northbound lanes. Crews constructed the asphalt and gravel shoulders
from WIS 76 to Breezewood Lane. Type I (large) sign bases and supports
were installed between WIS 76 and Breezewood Lane. Crews began painting
the edge lines and installing grooved in contrast tape skips.
October 14 to October 20: Median work on US 41
will continue again this week. Light bases will be installed between
County G and the bridge over the Rail Road Spur. Barrier wall will
continue between County GG and County G. Barrier wall will be installed
along the outside of the northbound lanes at County GG and Breezewood Lane. Shoulder
work will be completed this week with the final layer of gravel being placed
from WIS 76 to Breezewood Lane. Pavement marking will continue in the
northbound lanes. Crews will be painting edge lines and installing
grooved in contrast tape skips.
Traffic
impacts:
Trucks are required to use the Left Lane thru the work zone due to the vane
drains in the right lane which cause a bumpy ride. The speed limit for
both northbound and southbound traffic has been reduced to 55 mph and will
remain that way until November 2012. The northbound traffic continues the
temporary lanes. The emergency stopping area for northbound traffic near
Nee-Vin Road has been closed. The emergency stopping area near County GG will
remain open. The on and off ramps to WIS 76 and Breezewood/Bell Street remain
open. Please observe the advisory speed limits posted on the ramps.
